CO2 lasers are a type of gas laser that produces a wavelength of 10.6 μm, which falls within the mid-infrared region. These lasers have high power and high electro-optical conversion efficiency, using CO2 gas as the working substance. By filling the discharge tube with CO2 and other auxiliary gases and applying a high voltage, a glow discharge is generated, exciting the gas molecules to emit laser light. After amplification, the released laser energy can be used for laser processing.
